Police Scotland release Nicola Sturgeon without charge

  1. Aye, they released that Lucy Letby twice before finally arresting her for good. Sturgeon could really use that motorhome about now to scuttle off to the EU as she always wanted.

  2. If she didn’t know and her husband has lied to her and brought down her political career and tarnished her legacy for good – When is the divorce happening?

  3. Seems fair based on what they know right now. There is still a long, long way to go in this investigation and Sturgeon knows she and her husband are still in hot water. She might not be charged now but I expect she knows it is only a matter of time before that changes.

  4. There is no need to arrest anyone who is cooperative, neither to serve a search warrant nor to ask questions. This is extra drama crwated fir political purposes.

That £600k does need to be answered for.

In hindsight, they could have just had a few mates at Westminster bung them 100x as much in taxpayers’ money for fake PPE since that is apparently legal under English law.

  5. Genuinely curious – why would the police arrest her just to question her? Surely they could have just invited her to an interview?

  6. Aren’t the police meant to build a case first and then arrest someone when they have enough proof that they’ve done something? Seems like they’re arresting people as a fishing exercise and hoping they’ll miraculously spill the beans.

  7. My take is that her husband has likely done something dodgy and she’s probably covered for him for some degree.

It’s why she fell on her sword out of the blue because someone discovered her husbands dodgy dealings and she had to distance herself from the party.
