I spent the last 10 mins trying to find a meme where someone photoshopped the statue and made her with red laser eyes, killing everything beneath her. Too bad I couldn’t find it.
When they were putting it up years ago people protested saying it looked satanic (with those hollow eyes , and that unsettling facial expression, I kind of have to agree ), so rest easy , you are not the only one creeped out by It

Black Ooze and blood leaking from the empty eye sockets. Erect Nipples. Black, tragic clothing made by dark granite. In right hand she holds ritual made coffin / tombstone flower ring. In left hand she holds specific golden coins, used to be placed upon the closed eyes of the deceased (Traditional ritual ever since the Thracian era). The owl that landed on the left hand is a messenger of death in the Bulgarian folklore and also associated with forbidden knowledge and also Bohemian Grove rituals and prayers happenning to this very day (you can see at youtube what I mean). Golden mask and crown in image of those used for burying ceremonies

Apart from her looking really cold, it is said that she is only woman from the waist up (you can see something not precisely corresponding with female anatomy between her legs) plus, she was directly looking at then prime minister B. Borisov office for years.

Nobody bothered to consult with the people before putting up a huge and hideous monument in a central yet inaccessible location. That’s how things are done in Bulgaria.
