Sorry all members to bother you again with that but there are some serious troubles going on with reddit at the moment. They are trying to kill all 3rd party apps to funnell the traffic through there own app which is buggy and of course riddled with advertisement.
Most of the traffic to reddit comes from mobile apps which have to pay to have access to the API (the way to access reddit’s data) which is normal, they are not going to let out their data for free. But recently they decided to hike the price of these accesses to enormous amounts which will kill and already has most main 3rd party apps such as Apollo, Reddit is Fun and many others. Reddit gets pretty much no revenue from desktops users as they are using adblockers and are a minority of the traffic.
They are launching an [IPO](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_public_offering) soon to basically get more investors and cash out, while they are relying on thousands of mods working for free to keep the community in bounds, as well as million of users who contribute to discussion and content every second.
I encourage you all to move to kbin.social or Lemmy (they are both part of the [Fediverse](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse))
The best alternative I found so far for r/switzerland is https://kbin.social/m/Switzerland (case sensitive)
Thanks for reading

Just use the Reddit app for gods sake. I always did and never had problems.
I think there is a community on ~~lemmy.lm~~ [feddit.de](https://feddit.de) ([https://feddit.de/c/schweiz](https://feddit.de/c/schweiz)) as well right now. That said, with the fediverse we can just subscribe to the most popular one, no matter if lemmy or kbin. Both are connected and not that difficult to understand. Just takes a bit of time Edit: If you want to join an instance and it is full or needs an approval first, just look for another instances as your “home”. They are connected to each other anyway
What we‘d need to explore is if other alternatives like squabble (I think) and raddle might be good as well.
We don’t have to come up with a solution to that asap. Reddit will die with this move. But it will die slowly like facebook slowly dies. We have some time and can use the momentum. But both, reddit and facebook will got the tumblr or rather the MySpace way. Especially with such a toxic and hostile management.
Don’t forget what reddit management did so far:
falsely accusing 3rd party developers, discrimination against blind people, abuse of admin tools to edit user comments, lying for years about features and making the reddit app usuable, hiring pedopile-supporters
And there is more, a lot [more](https://reddit.com/r/dankmemes/comments/1477psa/_/jnu6kev/?context=1)
Wait, there are other Ways to access reddit than the App itselfs and the Webpage?
I didnt even know, anyway, i dont care
So in short, there is a company producing something to make money and you aren‘t willing to pay.
It’s normal to pay for an API, we talk about Reddit, it’s still a social network without content limits, hey should the 3rd party app producers benefit for free?
People really have an issue if this API is declared serious trouble…..
Speaking about Rexxit, why are we still here?
Will those third party apps share their profits me if I fight Reddit for them?
Will the people trying to profit from drawing Reddit users to their “Lemmy’s” share their profits with me?
It always fascinates me to see how easy it is to use mob mentality for personal profits, while the mob believes they are standing up for a good cause.
