  1. Always wondered the psychology behind this, like what goes though their heads (if anything) to think stabbing someone to death is a justified means of action.

  2. Is youth knife crime actually increasing, or is it just the case that’s it’s being reported on more?

    >A 35-year-old woman was also stabbed but has been discharged from hospital, the force added

What the fuck has happened here? Member of the public intervening in the attack, or the victim’s mother?

What a pointless loss of life. 16 years old with everything to live for, and dead before they even got a chance to live any of it.

  3. 8 v 1 is cowardly enough.

8 with weapons vs 1 is even worse.

Hopefully they all get tried for murder and rot

  4. This is the second fatal stabbing in Bath in the last few weeks. Really not the kind of place you expect that kind of shit. Awful.

  5. I grew up in London in the 80’s and 90’s and we had serious football violence going on as well as street gang crime.

Regular stabbings. Chelsea smilers was something we were made aware of as primary school kids. We were told not to answer if anyone asked what football team we supported.

We always used to say when crimes like this were on the news or when they say “this is the twelfth child stabbing in London this year”, why do only some get reported?

Not sure what it’s like in London anymore, I went north. But my suspicions are that it’s always gone on and always going on, but just like the overwhelming poverty, homelessness, abuse, rape, etc that also goes on daily… we tend to switch off from it to save ourselves emotionally.

Then stories like this come along and remind us how fragile and fleeting life can be.

  6. The blame game is rife here. Is it the parents fault? Social media clout? Peer pressure? Covid lockdowns? Lack of youth centres? Too much time hanging around town centres and online? Well the answer is probably.. yes! to all of these.

In some way all of these have contributed to the death of this young person, and whoever of the suspects murdered him, they have been persistently let down by all of the above factors to get to such a point where they felt the need to carry a knife, let alone use it against someone.

  7. What the fuck is going on with stabbings lately, there have been 4 stabbings in my area (Scotland) in the last 48 hours.

  8. When the Conservative Party were warned that lack of funding to education and youth programmes would cause an increase in youth related crime, the public chose the belittle those that claimed it. Since that point people have even forgot that the Conservative did this and these sorts of crimes appear at least to be increasing.
The ideology that Conservatives hold that “the market decides” and that society doesn’t really exist, is coming to fruit. This is what happens when all the money gets drained from society and those that have taken it all, don’t even live in the country. Those that do live in it, give not a shit because they don’t see a future for themselves because the social structure they no wlive in is one of the individualist and not a collective supportive structure.

  9. Scum. If the spoilt kids can’t party non-violently, their parents shouldn’t let them attend parties. Send them to do some other social activity.

Same as my teenage cousin who broke covid rules to host a drugs party while her mum was away visiting her dying mother and barely got punished by her parents. Instilling discipline and respect into kids has become taboo.
