It’s crazy how many people still believe the feminist lies about the gender pay gap.
I think what is being missed here is that women predominantly work in fields where the pay is generally lower (e.g. care work), whereas men tend to work in fields with higher salaries (e.g. IT). The issue then seems to be that men and women are socialised into different jobs and it just so happens that the fields women tend to work in pay less. In addition, women get penalised for family care work as they lose years of work and pay raises.
The problem goes deeper than just “women earn less than men for the same work”, and I will say that I wish the feminist strike would also focus more on these issues, but I think that any attention being brought to pay disparity is good.
So are women still refusing to work as much overtime men, refusing to take the same high-stress and high-risk positions that pay high salaries?
You mean to tell me men are still paying the vast majority of taxes?
Are women still net-negative in taxes? Are women still on average receivers of financial transfer throughout their lifetime?
And employers are at the same time greedy sociopaths that would do anything for profit, and also sexist pigs that will literally rather sacrifice profit than employ more women. Because if it’s true that women will do the same job in the same quality for 18% less pay, employers are stupid to still employe men.
Rather they would seek to employ women and that run on women workers would quickly lead to increased prices for woman workers, e.g. increased salaries. But yeah, probably not, it’s surely all sexism.
And the most sexist of all are self-employed women! Because according to statistics, the greatest gender pay gap in all sectors is in self employment. Those pesky self employed women refuse to earn as much money as their male counterparts.
Tldr?
The author of that article sounds like a “pick me”-person. And of course, it’s in the NZZ.
