  1. Thanks for the heads-up.

Personally, I am really fed up about the OECD/G20 vote.
I will not be advocating for a yes / no here, it’s just that I find the proposal insulting.

To my understanding, the government is proposing to accept the new law so not to lose part of the taxation to other countries….and then a good sum of the new income generated will end up in tax relief.

So what’s the end point? Sure big companies will pay 15% in taxes but they will receive tax relief on the other end.

    Wow.

  2. I just hope that the right wing parties do their job regarding the minimal taxation and redirect as much money as they can back to the economy. Switzerland has 0 interest in rising it’s taxes, this is just imperialistic bs…

But people keep thinking that Google and other big companies stay here because the mountain views are so nice.

  3. Caution, voting by post is too late! You can only post the letter directly in the municipal letterbox or turn up in person at the ballot box on Sunday.

Until when is postal voting possible?
To be on the safe side, if you send your voting documents by first-class mail (A-Post) on the Monday before the election day. However, each municipality and canton has its own regulations. For example, in Zurich, you must send the envelope no later than Tuesday because it is only franked for second-class mail (B-Post). In other municipalities, you can still send it by first-class mail (A-Post) until Wednesday. You can find the exact information on your voting papers. Also, pay attention to the specific emptying times of the mailbox (check the website of the postal service).

  4. And even if you don’t know whether to vote yes or no, vote blank! Blanks are counted in the participation statistic while not voting isn’t!
