Great. I’m in favour of maintaining strong support (both military and humanitarian) for Ukraine for as long as is needed.
D/N: “If the frontline is breached, the invasion will fall.”
Ukraine: “Even if it is breached, it would take a number of shells beyond reckoning, thousands, to break the Russian fortifications.”
D/N: “Tens of thousands.”
It’s great that they give shells, but 10k shells is not even a days supply, we should give much more
I just wonder what our production capabileties are
Not correct. We have them to Russia, but delivered through Ukraine’s excellent courier service.
Its something i guess. Maybe Forsvaret shouldn’t have demilitarized so much of our stockpiles. The company i used to work for demilitarized 55 000 shells back in ~2010. These shells were in good condition, but since Norway had no enemies i guess these was no need to store them any longer…
The increasing lack of ammunition is really concerning, like what if the frontline was from Georgia to Norway? How lacking would supplies be then? How can this many rich countries fail to give proper resources? Good on Norway and Denmark for this I guess but Ukraine shouldn’t have to be conservative with their stock
Good. But can’t we give more? That’s not going to last long.
It’s 18,000 shells
* 9,000 shells assembled from Danish and Norwegian components, with charges.
* 7,000 completed shells and charges from Norwegian stock.
* 2,000 completed shells and 1,500 charges from Danish stock.
All 155 mm.
Russia has around 700,000 artilery shells stockpilled and is producing 30-40,000 a month
Why not pledge literally all of them (over time though)? The only realistic threats against Denmark and Norway artillery-wise right now are… Sweden
