How can I get a few bob for boxes of books I don’t need? (Mixture of all types of books)

1. Car boot sale might be a good option.

2. I ended up bringing all of mine to the recycling center. Or most anyways. Two boots full.

   Charity shops wouldn’t take them, library wouldn’t take them, nursing homes wouldn’t take them, hospital wouldn’t take them.

   You could try listing it as a job lot on adverts or something but I wouldn’t hold my breath for a sale.

3. Some second-hand bookshops will buy them but they’ll give you fuck all for them. It won’t be worth your while.

   Car boot sale as already mentioned or list them on-line .

4. You should start a free library box. That would be cool. Oh wait no, we’re in Ireland and the kids will ruin it.

5. There’s a very active Facebook group Book Swap Ireland, you’ll definitely move a few of them on there. Generally people pay for their own postage.

7. I see another poster has said a place that pays a euro a book, so this isn’t any use but here’s another option (unless they don’t pay that much any more). This site pays 40c voucher per book:

8. While I know you prefer to sell them, if you would like to donate them, I’ll happily collect them for our office library.

11. Good luck, couldn’t even donate books last time I tried, ended up dumping them.

12. The library may or may not take them but libraries do have a section where you can leave books for others to take and keep.

    The only other option is to sell the box to a second-hand book store but it wouldn’t cover the cost of transport.

    May as well do the Good Samaritan thing.
