Mother killed by ex a day after calling Dorset Police

  1. Again. One of the most important issues today is women’s rights. Yet shamefully the fact remains that women suffer appalling physical, mental and sexual abuse from men. The actual figures for women falling victim at the hands of men outnumber any stats for any other crime statistics out there. Surely priority number one?

The police still don’t take these issues as seriously as they should, this is just one example.

  2. While it’s a very sad situation the title certainly puts a certain spin on it… Coroner concluded Dorset Police couldn’t have prevented it, and that there was no threats disclosed on the call to the police nor was there a history of violence, Under those circumstances despite being incredibly tragic there’s nothing anyone could expect the police to do.

  3. Because 95% of people won’t read the article, and the BBC have chosen this headline for a very specific reason:

    >”Recording a conclusion of unlawful killing, coroner Rachael Griffin said there was no evidence Dorset Police could have prevented Ms Milnes’ death.”

    >”In separate report, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said the force handled Ms Milnes’ call in a “reasonable” manner, given that no threats or a history of violence were reported.”

  4. I know her family have gone through a terrific amount of pain, and I understand why they will always think it, but ‘advice’ or verbal warnings don’t work with stalkers and rejected harassers. The fact that he murdered her shows how far he was willing to go. Police going around and saying ‘don’t do that’ could even accelerate plans.
