  1. I’m not against it, I’m just not ok with the guy having a blade under the coat, it should be 1 to 1, human against bull, barehanded so the fight will be more entertaining. Also the public health system shouldn’t have to deal with this because if you’re dumb enough to put yourself in danger, you should deal with the expenses, same with San Fermines and all that barbaric crap

  2. Spsniards turned against bullfighting a long time ago. Bullfight exist today because it’s a public financed “cultural asset” for the government but without public aid this business is ruined. We have bullrings with a capacity of thousands of people and most of the days only few hundred people attend to the show. It’s like if Italy somehow still promote and finance gladiator fights because it was a part of Italian culture in the past.

  3. We’ve been against it for years. Protests have been going back a while now.

I also find it slightly funny that an official French public broadcaster is sharing this on our subreddit. We’re not the ones you should inform haha.

  4. I’m still disgusted when anyone outside of Spain relates the country with bullfighting. This shit does NOT define us in ANY way. As a matter of fact we transform them in Catalonia, [this is the Plaza de toros Las Arenas in 2003](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYmdBWW89pE) and [this is the same place right now](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBSxviD6KrQ). Not making any “spain vs catalonia” statement, nor is it an exclusive initiative of us, just saying the country is actively progressing towards removing the whole thing, except of course for the far-right citizens of the more rural and culturally stuck part of the country.
