Gino was one of the best guys in the peloton, and his death hits so close to home. He must have grown up 30 km from me and while we never met, that made me feel an odd connection to him, or maybe it’s that he just spoke like me- like it would have been so easy we could have been friends, and that makes it somehow worse to accept his journey has ended.
