I’ve had a few wake up from hibernation with the heating on in the house. If you can, pop him somewhere cold and he’ll go straight back to sleep until spring when he’s meant to be awake
For anyone wondering where they’re all coming from, this species hibernated indoors during the winter and waits to wake up in spring.
If you find them don’t throw them out the window but put them in a box and close it up till the spring time they’ll be really grateful of it
I found a peacock butterfly in my turf pile the other day. I thought it was very unusual this time of the year.
