It’s primarily Tories at the top, so this doesn’t hold water.
Also the source is The Daily Fail/Heil, not exactly the most trustworthy or objective news outlet.
Reality has a liberal bias and these people would like to substitute a different reality as often as possible.
So I expect we’ll be hearing more communist opinions at the BBC and not just right wing reactionaries?
Something tells me it’s going to be far more of the latter.
Do you have diverse opinions?
Why yes!
Welcome aboard.
Are they not missing the point? Meant to be unbiased, as in no opinion on anything, just present facts.
The BBC has always been the broadcaster supporting the establishment. But the modern BBC has actively supported the tory government and was showing a clear pro brexit bias before the referendum.
>claims of ‘liberal bias’ among employees
They have just had to sack the head of the BBC for arranging loans to a Tory PM and not revealing it.
There is absolutely a bias at the BBC, but it’s the exact opposite to the one the Daily Heil is banging on about.
The BBC openly claiming that it’s not right wing enough, fucking hilarious.
“Liberal bias”? Liberalism is broadly defined by a support for the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality and equality before the law. It also typically encapsulates support for capitalism and market economies as an economic freedom. Which of these things do they take exception to?
Let’s not import the Americans lingo, we are importing enough brain rot as it is. Liberalism is the status quo today and has been for lifetimes now, to truly be a conservative today is to be a liberal. If you’re anti liberalism, you aren’t a conservative who wants to preserve our civilisation, you’re a reactionary who wants to tear down our civilisation. If you really hate our society, the least you can do is have the balls to own the position.
Looks like an excuse to hire even more Tories then.
Maybe they’ll finally hire pro-trans reporters.
Stop laughing, it could happen!
I would think a better start would be to ask if you’ve any links with or are a former Tory party member.
i believe that liberal bias is also reffered to as “not falling for the tories shite”
Neat. Combine it with other diversity quotas for the most specific possible job ads ‘we’re looking for a non binary disabled person of colour who voted Leave, hates immigrants and wants to nationalise railways’
Must have a relevant degree and at least 4 years media experience.
Starting salary £25k, based in central London, remote working not available.
The best thing the BBC can do is hire the best people based on their skills and experience. That goes for people at the very top especially
Even as a right winger I think the only requirements should be that it’s the right person for the job, no quotas for any characteristics.
But, they should also make sure they have a decent balance of opinion in their political programming.
