People managing/building rental units are the scum of the earth? Fucking shocked
For people looking for a TLDR
>The complex was built to what are known as build-to-rent standards, under which developers were allowed to trade off less private space and storage in individual apartments, in exchange for more communal amenities.
>Planning guidelines for these kinds of rental complexes stressed the importance of shared amenities in helping those living there get to know their neighbours, and feeling that they belong.
Apartments built to a much smaller standard because of the developer having to provide better quality shared spaces. Social tenants live in the BTR standard apartments but are locked out of the shared spaces.
Sounds like a cheaper rent was negotiated for the social housing at the expense of the amenities
I’m sure it’s included in their lease to list what’s included, and in the rental agreement between the social tenants and whatever body they’re renting from, and the price that’s paid in rent to the landlord will reflect that.
If people want more then that usually comes with a cost.
It’s frustrating, but like. That’s life. If you’re not paying for something or your housing body isn’t paying on your behalf, then you can’t have it.
Is this the same place that swans in the news a few weeks ago about not having car parking included in he rental or the leases, so people were parking on the roads around drimnagh ?
From what I read there was plenty of spaces, just not included in the rent. but some renters didn’t want to add it on and pay the extra to rent a car park.
This sounds like the poor Dior issue that was raging in London a few years back
Just a complete shithole that is best avoided at all costs.
I’m all for social housing, anybody that wants to check that can feel free to scroll all my last comments. But this is absolutely ridiculous, they have clean, safe housing and they’ve an issue they can’t have access to things people paying €900/1000+ more than them a month have. Then let them pay the fucking rent themselves, I grew up Social housing (we need loads more) but this entitlement attitude bugs the fuck out off me.
People are so fuckin stupid.
When kids don’t feel welcome they wreck stuff. Whether its a playground, a neighbours shed or whatever.
If you think telling kids they arnt allowed use a playground because it’s only for the better kids you are a horrible person that was raised wrong. There’s no discussion. If you think kids deserve to be stuck outside a fence and look at other kids inside having fun because their parents dont or can’t work you are a horrible person that wasn’t raised right. You deserve to have your playground wrecked and the social kids bullying your kids. You created the division, not the social kids.
Animals alive in this day and age thinking like that.

This shit is standard in London along with “poor doors”. A poor door is a separate entrance into a building that the social tenants use so they are completely separated from the rest of the building. Awful.
Everyone has the option of applying and getting their name drawn out of the hat. They might get lucky and get offered a new apartment, or they might not.
Or they can pay now to be certain of getting the place they want.
This country has a serious class problem. Fences and walls everywhere. Us vs them. Ghettoisation of whole neighborhoods. Disgusting.
I pay €1700 a month for an apartment that doesn’t have a playground or gym 😂 Closest I can get is bushy park yet this chap is complaining when he’s paying fuck all? Go to the playground down the road and buy a gym membership like the rest of us schmucks.
