Hi Folks, looking for advice, I am going to try and attempt repairing the dry verge on the side of my extension….. i have bought the mortar mix (sika 112)….. my question, do I remove the old mortar completely or do i just patch the holes and cracks? Any other advice on how to do this is welcome

That’s not a dry verge, it’s got mortar in it.
Remove the loose stuff as much as possible, then repoint. If there’s not much length just remove it all, as the new mortar will be a different colour.
Also if it’s not leaking which I doubt it is then don’t do anything 👍
It’s a barge ,and you can re-point it , just take out the old blown mortar or by some barge tiles and cover it and be done with it for good.
Get some black cement dye. This is a very easy job to diy
Don’t forget to mix some waterproofing product into the morter
