Anything that can quickly and cheaply displace gas is a plus.
I think these larger scale solar projects are a bad idea in this country. Solar is perfect for on site/distributed energy (i.e. panels on your roof). Elon was attempting this with Solar City, of course he did a rather botched job of it to say the least. Id prefer employing already used land rather than devoting arable land that could be used for agriculture or rewilding.
IMo the net gain on the environment is negative here (no data to back that up tho), curious what those more educated in the matter think.
