    **Context/Description:**

    >A combination of [the unofficial Maltese civil flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Unofficial_Flag_of_Malta_(pre-1943).svg) and [the coat of arms of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Escudo_Orden_de_Malta.svg) (courtesy of JC), it is from the scenario(s) where the said knightly order remained in the little Mediterranean islands, serving as de facto head of state (there is an elected Maltese government in this scenario, which is headed by the Prime Minister), the latest of such PoD(s) is the Treaty of Amiens in 1802.

**PS:** This is dedicated to the Maltese, both within and outside Reddit.

  2. I don’t agree with the concept that much. We weren’t always treated well by the Order and they never accepted any Maltese to become fully fledged knights. Interesting work nonetheless. The Maltese flag if anything should just be red and white to distance ourselves from any past rulers.

  3. No thanks

Order is something that shouldn’t be glorified even more than it already is.

Flag is also way to complicated, rule #1 of flag design is to not make a flag that a 6 year old can’t draw.
