Police watchdog demands new legal powers as public trust ‘hangs by a thread’

  1. What the police need is better PR and more funding. Most people don’t want to work an insanely difficult job with huge responsibilities when they could literally stack shelves at Lidl for much better pay.

As for PR, it’s a problem with media as a whole where negative stories are more profitable than positive ones, but it would help if local news documented the police working with local communities when they host workshops or surgeries where they listen to concerns from members of the public.

  2. Killing dogs, pre-emptively arresting protestors, not to mention all the crimes their kind have been getting up to such as CSA; abducting, raping murdering single on their way home from work.

Oh, and let’s not forget arresting women holding a vigil for the woman who one of their ilk murdered.

If the police are worried about trust perhaps they shouldn’t have done such an amazing job of pissing all over their reputation.

They’ve only got themselves to blame for this.

I am committed to ensuring that the NPCC works alongside our partners to secure the right level of investment in policing and bring about meaningful change.”

Then why haven’t you done anything about the recommendations sitting on your desk for the last 7 years?

  4. How about start with the IOPC not being staffed by a bunch of ex coppers and their buddies, being an ex copper should ban you from being able to make rulings about police complaints
