It’s usuall in the old carriages. New/refurbished carriages have signs in English and also in German and Russian.
Idk but even the slovak translation isn’t correct in literary terms haha
they also dont have any signs in hungarian, the largest minority language, either, so it makes quite little sense indeed
“… Němčina, francouzština a italština byly oficiální jazyky Mezinárodní železniční unie se sídlem v Paříži. Angličtina jejím jednacím jazykem nebyla – Anglie totiž ležela, stejně jako dnes, na ostrovech, a žádné koleje tam tudíž nevedly.”
As a British person, I’m guessing it’s because you can’t take a train to Britain from Slovakia? Or because you WANT British people to open the door while the train is in motion?! 😉
Na slovensku po slovensky 🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮
Well … there are not so many english speaking countries in EU or nearby … also train could’ve been made some time ago, as I see mostly english in the newer ones
Idk it’s weird how the announcements are usually in Slovak/English but the signs are not
Is it maybe because one of the biggest producer of railway wagons in Slovakia is a Russian?
Slovakia would love to have all texts translated to English, but the only official translator speaking English was tortured and prizoned by aliens after he translated “Cudzinecka Policia” as Alien Police. It was found out that this was simply Google Translate job and he was just a copy&past translator. Since then, everyone is afraid to translate official texts to English.
