  1. Even if we believe that the driver suffered ‘transient gloabal amnesia which wiped his memory of the crash’ (*really!?*) there was another officer in the car who witnesses the hit and run. Was there no conversation?

“Hey, dude, you hit that car. You not gonna stop?”

    “I do not remember”

blatant bullshit. Can confidence in the police get any lower?

  2. >An internal police report, seen by this newspaper, found that the decision came after medical experts said PC Warren had suffered an episode of a condition called ‘transient global amnesia’ (TGA), which has wiped his memory of the crash.

    Surrreee….

So he’s been allowed to keep his job when either a). He suffers from a condition which renders him unable to do his job properly or b). He’s a fucking idiot who crashes into people, with a dashcam in his own car recording everything, and then just drives off.

  3. Now if it was a GENUINE unknown medical condition then sure take the firearm and driving and desk duties and if it can be proven he didn’t know he had one then sure.

His mate on the other hand who did not suffer from any condition, honesty and integrity, should have stopped, called a sgt and followed protocol.

If the shoe was on the other foot and someone didn’t stop then we would charge them. It’s not what you do it’s what you do next.
