20 euro for a jersey in a charity shop?
Am I living in the past?

  1. Depends on the club I suppose. Liverpool/Man.U? Maybe. Accrington Stanley on the other hand…

  2. Yeah, that’s me off to buy more Chinese fakes then.
It’s bad enough at 80 for a jersey these days but 20 for a shit NZ based A-League team?

    No thanks.

  3. Well you could either get this for your €20 or a single pack of peas down in Donnybrook Fair, your choice.

  4. Charity shops rarely have their own barcode system. That’s likely the original tag from the original shop. Yes they can often be left on by donators as an indication it’s so almost-new it was never worn & still has the tag. Often seen in charity shops.

  5. I wish we had real thrift shops here, which focus on sustainability and reuse, rather than extracting as much money as possible for the purpose of charity.
I know we have adverts, but I love browsing thrift shops and markets in other countries.

  6. That shirt wouldn’t be widely available in Ireland. As a collector I’d think that was a decent price.

There was a time when you’d pick up some really good old collectible shirts in charity shops for a couple of quid but they got wise to this so now charge what they see as a reasonable value because they don’t know if they have an absolute classic worth a couple of hundred or a dishcloth that you couldn’t give away!

  7. Vintage jerseys are a trending fashion item. You can’t blame SVP for trying to make money selling stuff in their shop to raise funds for the charity. It’s literally their fuckin job.
