Hallo,
I’d like to ask whether Erstattung is possible if the train is completely unavailable for that day due to sudden train maintenance. The train I referred to is ICE 127 going from Amsterdam -> Frankfurt Flughafen, 20.06.2023. As you can see from here [https://www.zugfinder.net/en/train-ICE\_127](https://www.zugfinder.net/en/train-ICE_127), all departure with that train today is completely cancelled. ~~I’ve gotten a replacement ticket from the DB but~~ I am wondering if it’s still possible to recoup some of the money. I know it’s a Super Sparpreis ticket and it’s probably unlikely that they would give me the chance to, but I guess i’ve got nothing to lose by asking here. Maybe someone has had experience with this already?

EDIT: I’ve contacted the person I’m buying the ticket for. She said she didn’t get any replacement ticket and opted for Flixbus instead.

If your booked train is canceled, the ticket automatically turns into a flexpreis ticket, valid on other trains going that route on the same day.
In addition if arrival therefor is delayed for more than one/two hours, there is a 25/50% refund.
