I just read this [article](https://www.nrk.no/trondelag/storre-skogbrann-i-snasa-_-kan-vaere-turist-som-har-tent-bal-1.16452760) about a brush fire that got started.aparantly there was a turist that needed help.i recomend using translation software to read the article
Here is the thing come prepaired bring extra powerbanks and a cellphone, and keep at the least one power bank full for those cases where you actually need help. a reflective vest is gold if you want to be seen. and food/ water. its ok to let your phone run out of power but dont use that powerbank untill you want to call for help.

if you are lost with no cellular conection my rule of thumb is get higher in elevation. if you are afraid you might be in danger find a high spot and call either 110,112 or in a medical emergancy 113 and they will take it from there. use mountian tops or terrain features as referance points if you need to move to find cellular conections.
if you are going in to a area with limited coverage **make sure you have a friend or relative informed of where you are**, and that you have times where you are suposed to check in with them. if you fail to check in they can assume somthing is worng, and a search can be started. make sure to bring sufficent food and drink and shelter. a aliminuim blanket is somthing you should carry its not the best but will help you retain heat. and keep your phone on, even if you dont have coverage [SAR QUEEN](https://www.fma.no/aktuelt-og-media/2020/sar-queen-tar-over-etter-sea-king) has equipment to provide mobile cellular coverage and thus send you messages. just dont
[Telenor coverage map](https://www.telenor.no/dekning/#dekningskart)[Telia coverage map.](https://www.telia.no/nett/dekning/)
and if you are going in to the real back country where the cellphone coverage maps show no signal. then you better know what you are doing, and have a plan to have someone call for you, or to make it out your self. leave information like notes and such visible in your car so we know where you intended to go.
also the [Hjelp 113 app](https://norskluftambulanse.no/hjelp113/), [YR](https://www.yr.no/en), [Norgeskart](https://www.norgeskart.no/#!?project=norgeskart) and [Hvor appen](https://www.kartverket.no/til-lands/kart/hvor-appen) are all golden apps to have when out hiking.
here is also the [mountian code](https://english.dnt.no/the-norwegian-mountain-code/)
i want everyone to enjoy the out doors and our nature.
**But**
just dont start random fires when a little planing and preperation will do wonders for your trip.
Mvh some one that is mildly annoyed about a random fire starting due to what i assume is poor planing.
PS after more information has arrived i can say that it was the right chose in this case to start the fire. but i want to say that it was in my opinion avoideble. and the tips here is still valid as a PSA for those planing to travel here, just dont play with water ice and bring a compass.
and i wish you all a good summer 🙂

According to Trønder-avisa he lost his phone when he fell through some ice into a stream. Still, having a phone as your only means of navigating is stupid no matter what.
Also, you can make a fire and a lot of smoke without burning down the forrest.
Etter tre døgn nedkjølt og bortgått så syns jeg det er helt innafor at han tente bålet sitt ved elvekanten sånn som han gjorde. Uten telefon eller mulighet til å komme seg videre så gjør man som man må.
That really sucks but glad the individual is safe and sound. Planning does cost time and money at times but that is worth it if because view every outing as it could mean your life or others.
This is so annoying. Yes I hope the guy is fine. However, *learn to use a fucking map and compass* before you decide to go into the wilderness. Do we need to make a compulsory course in basic survival skills to allow people the right to roam so they don’t burn down the forest? I hope the guy gets a hefty fine, maybe it was his only choice to start a fire, but its his own fault for being so incredibly naive.
Rather jail time than dead,
but rather plan better than get into the situation.
