Yes the locals are friendly and the place is safe. Enjoy your stay, and don’t forget to check out Gozo.
Been a few times to Malta. I was there for the grand harbour fireworks in April. It’s always been friendly when we’ve been unless you find the visiting Italians who tend not to be. We decided this time to just get a boat over to Gozo rather than doing a tour and just have a walk about. Comino is ok but beyond the blue lagoon swimming it doesn’t have much else and gets really packed.
Valletta is nice. If you want to see the real Malta, go to sliema, st. Julians and gzira 🥲
Edit: it’s irony. I thought 🥲 is explaining it enough 😀
For walks in the countryside visit Siggiewi.
For me, the city even the country is too noisy and too dusty 😿😿.
Went to Valetta a few weeks on a tour and very much liked what I saw but was short on time so going to go back and explore at my leisure one day.
