I personally hate the way Norwegian businesses make that claim, but I grew up in the land of fish and chips and it takes a lot to beat some of the stuff from the UK and Ireland.
I think this is in Ålesund, and I actually had the fish and chips here on a work trip this winter. Worst I’ve ever had. Everything from the quality of the fish to the batter and oil was just abysmal. This is something they generally get right in the UK and not here in Norway. With one very notable exception: Hjemmebane pub in Tromsø.

You’ll not get decent fish and chips at a price anyone would be willing to pay to be honest. There was a place in Oslo once that was passable but the fish was hiding under a chip it was so small.
