A bit of context, I am a 33 year old prospective student from a non-EU country applying to Saarland University for the winter semester for Master degree program (EduTech). Haven’t received offer letter yet pending results in late August, but was advised to start applying for prospective student visa as it will take 3 months.
1. With Fintiba Plus, I get free travel health insurance but this package also comes with private health insurance which is Mawista that doesn’t seem to be highly regarded at all having read the wiki and the posts in this sub (I am over 30 coming from a non-EU country), although yes, the agreement says “You may cancel your policy at any time. It will then expire at the end of that month”, but I am wondering if I should cancel AFTER I sign up for another private health insurance. Any recommendation for private health insurance? And can I actually cancel the Mawista Student Insurance if i want to opt for another insurance?
2. For the visa application, I need proof of correspondence with a German university for the visa application, but this program does not go through uni-assist and I have to apply directly to the program, which I did. What I have received so far from them is [only this email](https://imgur.com/a/pUdZLXD). Does it suffice as “proof of correspondence”? I have emailed the uni as well as the embassy but no response so far. I am anxious because I want to submit the visa asap without delay.
3. Proof of language proficiency
My Master degree is entirely in English, and the course program website (https://edutech.uni-saarland.de/applying-to-edutech-m-sc/) states that if my Bachelor was conducted in English, I do not have to present proof of language proficiency. Can I just print out the website page of the course program that states the exemption of language test and also upload my bachelor degree transcript that states the bachelor program was conducted in English? I called up the embassy last week and the person on the line said yes to the above, but I feel that a written confirmation from the embassy is a much safer bet. Have emailed them and have not received a response, so just wondering how is it like for others in a similar boat?
4. Pre-registration of your study course
My degree does not have any pre-registration course, so it’s fine to omit this right?
5. Do I have to get all the documents like copies of my certs certified?
