My wife is a potato person, so we visit Latvia 1-2 times per year. First stop is always Rimi to grab a bag of Karums.

They are glorious.

My power rankings:
1. Vanilla
2. Chocolate
3. Coconut
4. Caramel
5. Orange

Still have to try the others.

Happy Jani, everyone! May you find the flower of the fern and not pass out in the sauna.

Love,
A dumb American lucky enough to marry into your culture

P.S. I cheered for Latvia in the hockey game. Happy and proud for y’all.

  1. Yes, vanilla is the best, I also like mango and kiwi ones. The only thing that I do not like about them is their recent price hike. Almost 50 cents for 45g of cottage cheese

  2. My power ranking: Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla Vanilla 🙂

One of the best prices that I’ve seen are at [pienaveikals.lv](https://pienaveikals.lv) – around 23 cents for 7 pack, and that price is there for half a year now.

  3. Hi guys my gf and I will be visiting Latvia this summer 🙂
We’d like to try this Karums! What is the best – i.e. cheapest – supermarkets to find them? We dont want to eat out every day and will most likely cook most of the days so if you could recommend us great supermarkets with affordable prices it’d be great! Thank you!!

  4. Karums enjoyers you should try to toss karums in the ice box of the freezer so you get ice cream like karums for hot summer day.

  5. I’m from Lithuania and complety agree with this statment. One of the best things invented by not only latvians but allso by Humans over all

  6. Still one of my favourite sweets, and I know this has been said a billion times but it really did taste batter in the early 2000s. Just something about the texture. It wasn’t so fatty.

  7. My business partner still owns a import/export company in latvia so he has so much of these. Whenever I go back to latvia for business I always go steal a box off him and get fat on these 😂
