In an act of brazen treachery, Rishi Sunak is sabotaging Boris Johnson’s policies

  1. Johnson is getting pinched in. Also from today:

  2. He’s not a pleasant man… a raving ultra right wing loon married to a billionaire richer than the queen.
Johnson scarily enough is probably a safer option.

  3. Yes, he’s been doing this for months. But most of the media is keeping his image clean to be a replacement.

  4. Pretty accurate. Johnson wants more govt spending and investment, but Sunak is stopping it – (a) to sabotage Johnson, and (b) to pitch himself as the kind of tax cutting heir to Thatcher that the Tory members love.

The media allude to this here and there, but it’s presented as part of the “ooh, who’ll be the next PM” political gossip news. The fact it’s seriously fucking up real stuff that needs to be done (the most essential obviously being green investment) is basically ignored.

  5. Remember when Sunak was supposed to be the compliant spineless replacement for Javid? That worked out well.

  6. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

That’s pretty much what Bozo did to Cameron, he was centre-right but saw his opportunity with brexit and sided with the far right of the party.

  7. I feel like Johnson is a spineless policy vacuum and, in the absence of leadership and direction, ministers will just do their own thing in their own way. “Levelling up” and “build back better” are hollow slogans with no substance.

  8. Johnson’s policies do that by themselves. Sunak hardly has to do much to sabotage them, other than provide funds for them, it is not really in his interest to do much more than step back and let Johnson fail on his own. His love of low taxes for the wealthy, freeports and tax havens are more concerning to me. Those all directly benefit his family and their money will be far safer under a Sunak government. Johnson is out of touch with the public but Sunak is no better.

  9. This can’t be true.

We’ve had this cuntclown for a while now…how many “policies” have you seen that aren’t simply knee-jerk reactions?

Nah…there’s no policies to be sabotaged.

That said, a tory sacrificing the people of the country for their own gain…yeah, that bit IS believable.

  10. Quick reminder, the Prime Minister is just the leader of the cabinet, not an actual executive or president. The cabinet has the rule of collective responsibility, that is, all actions are the collective act of the group.

You cannot have “treachery” in this set up.

Of course, we’re deep into the lies and conventions that make up our “constitution” here…the ones that assume good faith and honesty on the part of all involved…
