  1. I was lucky to meet him when I was 16 (2006) at some event in London. We spoke Polish briefly, but me being just a kid didn’t have much to say. I do remember his wife being a very nice lady and she entertained me with a conversation even after Ben left to mingle with the others.

  2. It’ll be a sad day when ww2 era is truly lost to living memory. Of course it was a tragic and awful time but it’s also absolutely fascinating to me and full of remarkable individual stories. Literally millions of them. The change in the world since the 40s to the 2020s is unfathomable to me twenty somethings during the war were middle aged by the time the Beatles and the 60s got going
