Striking off legally binding rulings that declare that a woman was *a fucking witch* should legally be the easiest fucking thing in the world.
If I got executed for it anyway, I would rather stay a Witch.
serious question – why? what does this accomplish? these women are long dead, and as fucked up as their deaths were, that was a looong time ago.
No hurry.
> The incorrect criminalisation of these women only strengthens gendered stereotypes in the modern-day and I believe righting this wrong will make a real impact in challenging gendered and patriarchal attitudes which still exist in society
To the question of what gender studies graduates do with their useless degrees. This, this is what they do. Waste public resources on superfluous gestures. Everyone else has to play along and pretend this is somehow positive progress for society, lest they face cancel culture (modern equivalent of witch hunts, ironic, no?)
Go prosecute grooming gangs and human trafficking rings if you want to ‘make a real impact’.
But the real question is how do we know they weren’t? We all know how thorough witch burnings were
Primo- Scotland wasn’t a free country.
Secundo – Witches might be unimpressed with timing.
