Liars again. But most probably they always have been. Incredible. The country is screwed. Just the beginning. Soon the american flag will be over westminster. Fuck those alt right gangsters
Voters knew what they were doing. They voted for a clown and got the deserved circus. Boris had form. He was the international laughing stock of the diplomatic world as foreign secretary, that should have served as a warning. It’s didn’t. Things do not look good if voters continue on this path, which it looks like they will given local election results
Superbly written Rafael, poetic and potent. Thank you.
I swear to god if tories win again in the next election I just won’t vote anymore. How anyone can still vote for them after all the shambles they’ve put us through, let alone the whole brexit ordeal is beyond me
Johnson’s problem is that his entire approach is based on being able to argue people around to his position. His optimism and boosterism works because he can convince people to do the things he wants, making the optimism self-fulfilling. But when you’re interacting with an international treaty or a virus or climate change, that doesn’t happen – you can’t talk CO2 into being less of a greenhouse gas, or Covid into behaving differently, and the EU is so bureaucratic and rules based that you can’t (as he hoped) talk them into changing the treaty you signed either.
People like to believe an optimist but when they fail to deliver they just look like a charlatan. He has Got Brexit Done, which is what people voted for in 2019, but that won’t win the next election, and more recent promises (like Levelling Up) look like lies at the moment.
Another crap stretched metaphor turned into a lazy Guardian reckon.
Once the cake runs out the only thing left to eat is the rich
You misunderstood. The tories will have **your** cake, and eat it.
