Time to crack down on possession of small quantities of cannabis for personal use
*Movie Trailer Voice*: In a world, were drug regulations are being eased. One man vows to stand up against the scourge.
His previous role was as the head of strategic transformation in the Guards.
Given the massive success that was,I have every faith.
>Councillor Nicholas Crossan said drugs was the biggest problem facing the youth of Ireland.
I’d love to hear how he came to that conclusion.
Plot twist; it’s the Guards up there that are they ones facilitating the sale of the aul drugs
“Anyone who takes a line of cocaine at the weekend or has a casual dug, a socially-accepted drug, is fuelling criminality. I don’t mind saying that and I don’t mind getting criticised for saying that. If you don’t create a market, you don’t have the criminals. Anyone casually deciding to take drugs is fuelling criminality.”
If only there were other options where casual users could be fuelling the government coffers eh…..
Sounds like a fight or battle cry… one might call it a “war on drugs”.
I’m no historian but I don’t think there’s ever been a precedent of those “wars” being absolute and total failures…
Why are drugs bad? a) Because they are illegal
Why are they illegal? a) Because they are bad
mmmKay…
Good man yourself, you’ll manage to do what every law enforcement agency in earth has been trying and failing to do for the past 50+ years.
Clearly the Gardaí in Donegal have something that the DEA and FBI are missing. They’ll all be taking seminars from this guy in 5 years time.
Why the fuck are people still doubling down on the war against drugs?! It’s not possible to win. They lost as soon as it was declared.
This is a joke and a waste of tax payer money. You can clamp down all you want, I can still go to any town in the country and have whatever drug I want within 2 hours.
They have no hope of stopping it.
Oh wow, Donegal has just entered the 1980s.
Sure the gardai are the ones bringing it into the country ffs😂😂😂
No police force in the western world has meaningfully impacted supply or demand of drugs. But this smuck garda will.
Drugs, if they a problem, are a medical problem, not a criminal problem. This fucking idiot is too thick to question the American propaganda he got. Nancy Regan is still running around in his head saying “just say no”. This thick fuck will see things that worked absolutely nowhere, including here, and try them again because he thinks it will give him political standing. He is an office muppet. You know the type. The unfortunate things is this muppet can ruin people’s lives.
.. with more UDA/UVF funding war on drugs. Its not plausible that they aren’t aware that they are creating territories for them.
Let’s be real here, Top guard couldn’t beat an egg for breakfast never mind winning the “WAR” on drugs. Pffft take a seat old timer… you’re never gonna win.
We should try to police drug users more. It has clearly worked extremely well in the past and is not a complete waste of everyone’s fucking time.
Donegal being seen as a safe-haven and easy target for criminality? I wonder who facilitated that reputation on the border, Garda? 😂😂
Focus on rally weekend and less on the headlines like a good man.
“I’m going to win the war on drugs” – Latest hopeful to crash his career against the rocks of futility.
“Why are so many young people experimenting with drugs?”

also, unrelated, a pint is now €7 and a Vodka & coke is €12
All Garda are useless. Couldnt kick snow off a rope
Enoch Burke has a more progressive outlook than this stone age coffin dodger.
Congrats to drugs for winning the war on drugs
Jesus christ our police force is living in the 1960s. what a silly cunt.
Remind me in 5 years when there’s a story of a senior Donegal Gardai involved in another drug scandal
This is Garda speak for cracking down on cannabis but turning a blind eye to heroin.
Top Garda in Drugs Bust Shocker
I’m only half-joking. There was a case over here very recently where a senior officer at GMP got busted for dealing the 20kg of coke he’d busted a gang for less than a fortnight prior. Rather than take it to the evidence lockup, he stowed it safely in his garage. He was only found out because he turned up to work and the CS noticed he was acting in a very bizarre manner…
*That cocaine was just resting in my garage*…
But as I may have mentioned a few times on this sub (and others) you don’t deal with the drugs ‘scourge’ by arresting people. The drugs aren’t the problem – the problem is the law. I don’t think many are still buying the line that they’re illegal because they’re harmful – alcohol kills more people per annum than all Class As combined. And many Class A substances are benign – and not only that therapeutic. If you’re not familiar with the Beckley Foundation, it was set up by Amanda Feilding (now Baroness) to study the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics, empathogens and cannabis.
“Fuelling criminality” – what a dickhead! A crime has a victim. How does locking up dealers and junkies help anyone…? Where’s the victim here…? The key word here is ***organised***; you take one dealer off the streets, and there’ll be someone in his patch in a couple of hours or so – what’s he proposing when every prison in Ireland is full…? Is he going to propose covering the whole of Ireland with prisons…? Prison ships…? Sending them over here (and our police are no different; as you’re probably aware, we have Police and Crime Commissioners; these aren’t rozzers, they’re party affiliated, and most are Tory (unsurprisingly). The P&CC of Sussex wants weed to be made Class A because “It’s just as addictive – if not more so – than cocaine and coke”. That’s how much these utter fucktards understand about drugs – they think cocaine and coke are 2 different substances – and of course the Home Office listens. Because of course it does – these people are elected Tories. Both Patel and Braverman have trotted out the same old bollocks that “the police (and these people are ***NOT*** plod) understand the harms of drugs better than anyone…” (the police. Not scientists. Not those who’ve been studying the benefits and harms of illegal substances. Tories don’t like science because science doesn’t agree with them. ***EVER***). There was an instance a few years ago where one force was found to be running a league table based on how many people they could arrest for drugs in a year – just like football, it was 1 point if they were white, and 3 if they were black (and black youth has always been disproportionately targeted; in London you’re ***TEN TIMES*** more likely to be stopped and searched if you’re black than if you’re white. There was an instance a few years ago when two Met officers tased a 20-year-old for simply sitting on a bench smoking a blunt. They pulled him off the the bench and kicked him around and, when he tried to defend himself, they tased him. He died. Of course they claimed he was the aggressor and was “resisting arrest”. I’m sure – 100% certain – had he been white, he’d have been cautioned. They had body cams, but they either claimed they weren’t functioning, or that the footage had been “accidentally wiped”. His family are still campaigning for justice. I’m sure I don’t need to mention that both officers were white.
I’m 100% certain that many join the police to get away with shite they’d get life for in civvies. These cunts have literally got away with murder…
Fuck, I’ve written an essay again.
another stiff old dirty wanker tackling the symptoms and making sure nobody address the cause.
