Yesterday I just bought the 49 Euro ticket for June. I usually pay for train tickets via PayPal, but there is only one option for the Deutschland ticket, your German bank account, so weird. But it’s okay, I did it anyway. Later, I found out that a second ticket was on my DB APP from July 1 to July 31. TF, I did not buy it.

To cancel the July ticket (49 Euro) I don’t need at all, I asked the staff at the railway station and was told if I want to cancel the July ticket I have to cancel it before 10th June. That blew me out, how can I do it I just bought my ticket a few hours ago! I saw a lot of people also asking the same question in the DB Info Center. I felt like it is like a scam. It means if you buy the 49 Euro tickets after the 10th of a month, you automatically buy two, right? and there is no way you can cancel the 2nd. Is there any way I can do?

Before buying, I did read the FAQ web page of the Deutschland ticket from the offical website here:

There is no such important information avaiable about the cancalation policy! And they should hightlight it in the first place. And I should be able to refund my un-intended service which is not taken place yet.

  1. That isn’t a scam, that is you not reading up on the terms and conditions. It isn’t a secret that it works exactly that way.

This one is on you, 100%.

  2. Germans defending this behavior instead of (at least) admitting that a company is scamming 49 euro out of people is concerning
