Saw these horses standing in front of Radisson Blu, Warsaw. I wonder why they have to be there, just standing all day long, with those people mounted on them! Is this not inhumane? Maybe it doesn’t go against the animal protection law, but still.

If the horses are there all day in the sun, yeah, dick move. If they take turns every two hours or something, well, the horses get fed, taken care of etc. They don’t work too hard, they’re not plowing a field somewhere or being abused by tourists or Górale/Bacowie in Zakopane.
Also, horses are probably trained for that and the weight isn’t really much for them. I doubt their gear weights as much as it would 500 years ago.

Horses will nap standing up and the only need to lay down for about an hour for some REM sleep once a day. He looks well and yer man on his in terms of weight for the horse is nothing. Y’know a cowboy will be on a horse 6-8-10 hours a day and prob weighs like 80-100kg and the horses are grand.
Bit stupid though, I’ll say. Adds nothing to the hotel having mounted horses there and sure many people are scared of horses so prob works against them. The Hussars look cool but yea, hardly appropriate at a hotel unless there’s some kind of convention on. I dunno.
Them lads in the suits though, man, they’re inhumane. Imagine being in a job where you have to waer a suit everyday. fuck that. Suits should only be for funerals…unless they’re attending a funeral.

idk why there is so many dislikes here, this question is totally valid.
Maybe they dont suffer very much but I dont see any reason to put them there, other than some kind of special event. Its looks like a cheap tourist attraction and If I were the hotel owner I wouldnt use it as “promotion” of my business.

As about „inhumane” as any horses or people around the world that do the same job – for example the Royal Guard.
