It doesn’t matter, they’re leveling up, supporting the country
Hey Tories, I assume we’ll see that banker bonus cap coming back pretty sharpish then? No? What about a curp of executive pay increases? No? I thought we all had to accept being poorer to curb inflation?
Reading the article it seems to say that the Bank of England is saying wage rises is fuelling inflation and the Unions are saying wage increases don’t fuel inflation.
So the layman does what? Just pick a side? Im getting so annoyed with articles like this that just don’t bother explaining anything in further detail.
Are the union’s really showing “fury” about this? Because the TUC’s head of economics clearly says:
> Scapegoating people in work for high inflation is wrong.
> Prices aren’t rising because workers are getting a pay rise. They’re rising because the impact of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have pushed up the price of energy and some basic goods.
So are we now back to blaming inflation on increasing wages again, after spending months saying that it was nothing to do with them?
The printing of more money is the sole driver of inflation.
Fuck all to do with price gauging and record profits reported by utility companies, gas and oil companies etc? I wonder….
The wages and employment figures are artificially inflated by Sunak’s IR35 changes (conveniently exempting businesses like his wife’s Infosys, but I digress) where thousands of professionals were put on payroll. Given that tech workers can easily work remotely for firms overseas that often pay much more than UK businesses, people wanting to retain their specialists have no choice but to pay more.
Unions behave like people get paid “so much” because they have a nice smile or something. No, it’s hard work, blood, sweat, tears and years or decades of education, training, self-improvement. But yeah go on you high horse and talk these people down.
Crabs in the bucket.
Does this include the insane pay rises of the union bosses?

And the TUC’s last [report on jobs and inflation](https://www.tuc.org.uk/research-analysis/reports/jobs-and-pay-monitor-why-we-need-pay-rise) says:
> Prices aren’t rising because workers are getting a pay rise. They’re rising because the impact of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have pushed up the price of energy and some basic goods.
