Ben Elton uses BBC to attack Rishi Sunak as ‘narcissistic sociopath’

  1. Please don’t you know that you cannot tell the truth about the tories or you risk breaking impartiality rules?

  2. Here we go again, another classic switcheroo from the Tories and the BBC. They’re putting on a great show of fighting each other, with the Tories huffing and puffing about how the BBC’s supposedly turned into the Labour Party’s personal fan club. But behind the scenes, this dust-up is actually a sly way to help the Tories.

When BBC puts up folks like Ben Elton criticizing the Tories, and then the Tory-backers yell “Bias!”, it creates a smokescreen. Tories supporters start thinking maybe it’s not Sunak messing up, but just some leftie plot out to get them. It’s a bit like blaming the mirror for the bad haircut.

In reality, it’s a clever game of “good cop, bad cop” with the BBC and the Tories, where they’re both actually on the same side. This drama isn’t about who loves or hates the Tories. It’s about throwing a bone to the Tory base, keeping them riled up against an imaginary enemy so they forget to look at what’s really going wrong. Keep your wits about you, folks – the real magic trick is happening somewhere else

  3. So all the tories have as a rebuttal is to call Elton a ‘Champagne socialist’? As I believe Engels once said ‘Why shouldn’t socialists drink champagne?’.

  4. Butthurt Tories calling for impartiality. Again. The Tories are free to throw as many stones as they like, but someone please remind them that the walls, windows and doors of their glass house have been blown off for a long time now. That’s why they are getting hurt.

  5. “Claire Buillivant, chief executive of the Boris-backing grassroots group Conservative Democratic Organisation, called the pundit a “champagne socialist” and condemened the BBC.

“The BBC these days seems like one long party political broadcast for the Labour Party. It’s becoming just a soap box for the left,” Ms Buillivant told The Independent. It’s a disgrace”

Fuck me, that’s rich after the BBC and Tories doing a hatchet job on Corbyn and Labour at the last election.

  6. This mental illness diagnosis of Rishi will hopefully allow him to be treated by a professional and he will be much better in the future. Well done Eton, who’s next on your Freud couch?

  7. Sunak is not a narcissistic sociopath, he either used this words for effect or has no idea what they mean.
If Sunak is this then what is Boris, what is Putin, what is Stalin.

  8. “ooh..little bit of politics ladies and gentlemen”.

This made me remember why I loved Ben Elton so much back in the 80’s. He was saying it then, just more often.

  9. Let’s be honest, most politicians are going to be narcissistic or psychopathic, they’ve been pushed into some elitist system from the day they started walking. For most people, that level of success comes with deep childhood emotional neglect/trauma.
