Concrete the whole front garden and they’ll be happy.
I’d be fuming.
Shock as cycling website outraged at a decision going against cyclists
Bollocks decision.
ABP and DCC are pure crooked. And it’s had a big impact on Dublin.
To protest I’d buy a manky blue hi-ace and park it in the garden. Keep my bike in there.
If you buy a terraced gaf for €1.5m amongst other €1.5m homes then you can fairly guarantee that all your neighbours will be petty cunts.
But if you peek between that tree and the boundary wall, you can see it over the hedge so it’s clearly detrimental to the setting…
See that craic where ABP want to rebrand as A*C*P (Commission replaced Board)? That’s the action of an organisation that won’t implement any meaningful internal or external changes, it’s as good as doomed i say
Wheelie bin storage fine. Bike storage not allowed. Weird decision.
Look at that. A cyclist not obeying laws.
Surely tis NIMFYism here no?
The members of the board are not obliged to follow the inspectors recommendations. This is not the scandal that you were hoping for :). NIMBY bashing is easy upvote farming but even this is a stretch.
This is a good example of our planning system working well to protect our built heritage. There is a reason these buildings were protected and that ugly lump of plastic is not one of them.
Also every owner of a protected structure I have spoken to is very ware that protected structures have less less planning exemptions. They are notified of this when their property is registered on the RPS.
The headline should read “Property owner chanced their arm at unauthorized development and got caught.”
“Ms Pearse said it “never dawned” on her that planning permission would be required. She said there were a large number of storage units, used by people to store their wheelie bins, outside houses in the area, including on her road of listed properties. Those units were not much smaller than her bike unit.”
Scorched earth so. I’d be filing a complaint about everything. Bury them in paperwork and inspections.
Wonder if the concert pad is the issue. Makes it more of a permanent structure. A metal box that is temporary might pass muster as it wouldn’t be subject to planning, no?
Buy a crappy white van to store the bikes and park it outside the neighbours who complained and sell a ad space for on the side for a std clinic to really piss them off
I’m sorry what. ?
Fuck off. It’s her garden
And what little freak is making a complaint about it. Unbelievable wankers in that area
>It emerged in April, 2022, the bike storage unit was at the centre of a planning dispute after a complaint was made. Dublin City Council effectively ruled against the family involved, saying they **could keep the unit in their garden.**
I presume that’s a typo, no? The council must’ve said they couldn’t keep it.
What an utterly ridiculous decision that is going to make cycling in Dublin a lot less appealing.
The owner probably should have known about all these rules about period houses before they bought it.
