Charge back on your card if it’s an issue they caused.
I got delayed for about 5 hours on Irish rail before going to Dublin from Cork. They refunded a single leg of the ticket via a voucher. So €16 for half a student return fair.
This voucher could only be redeemed in person and a single student ticket at the time was over €20 and the return in person was over €40 without the booking online discount. The voucher would have cost me money to buy a ticket using it.
Bunch of clowns.
How is that legal? I’ve never heard once of a charge for a refund for the fault of a company
Illegal if they’re at fault.
However, if it’s a case like the below then I’m not sure:
*If you did not have your confirmation email with you at time of travel and bought a replacement ticket from a Bus Éireann Driver or at a Bus Station, please retain that ticket and submit it in support of your refund application. You must make all refund claims no later than 30 days after the date of outward travel on your unused ticket.*
*If you decide for some reason not to use the ticket you bought online, you should apply for refund before the date of outward travel shown on your order*
*Claims for refunds in respect of unused tickets will be considered solely at the discretion of Bus Éireann and will be subject to an administration charge of €5 per transaction.*
What’s the reason for the refund?
No one else can I ask for a refund tells me there’s administration fees. Imagine Dunnes stores telling you there is a charge for administration fees for this has to be against consumer law.
is it a soiling charge?
it’s grand, they won’t answer the follow up email, so you won’t get any of the refund anyway. Just write it off
Got caught by them recently. They sell timed tickets in the station, give priorty to online tickets and if the bus is full the bought ticket can’t be used on the next bus. Then ignore requests for refunds
I’m absolutely terrified of using my new travel pass on Bus Eireann. I’d book online, but hear so much about people being denied seats who have booked, of there being no staff around to help sort things out, plus they must have the world’s most absurd timetable and related website anyway: I get terribly confused and frustrated. All I can think of is genuinely old people trying to navigate through it all just to secure a bus trip from Cork to Clon. God be with the days of paper ticket sales at the bus station, from humans.

Refunds should be one way , not return. Pricks
Report the hell out of this
