1. If we had proper border checks he would have been identified on entering the country and it would have been no great bother to match is picture here to id presented on entering Ireland

2. I hope this fella is caught and brought to justice. Women shouldn’t be in fear walking home after a night out. However, this young woman wasn’t Irish. She probably wasn’t aware of that part of the city. At night it can get absolutely dead quiet and I wouldn’t be walking anywhere around there myself after dark. As a Dub you just subconsciously know that there are certain parts of the city you don’t venture through at night as sad as it sounds. She should have walked down O’Connell Street, up Frederick and then down Dorset…far safer bet at that time of night.

   He clocked her on Gardiner St and followed her to Mountjoy Sq where he attacked her.

   Male , around 30, around 5ft8, foreign accent, dark skin, bad teeth.

   Hard to tell if it’s a failed sex attack or a failed mugging.
