  1. > Former Garda inspector says the concentration of hostels and methadone clinics contributes to a menacing atmosphere

  2. It’s just as bad in Cork, junkies all over the place, the city centre has gone to shit, dereliction, dirty streets, pure dodgy then on Friday and Saturday night when the clubs dump thousands out onto the streets then and every single one of them pissed out of their mind, we seriously need to get out act together because we’re turning into a bit of a kip.

  3. They know they can’t be touched most of them are under age and all they get is a slap on the hand back out to start again

  4. No child grows up dreaming of being a scumbag or junkie.

All of these people at this shite usually come from lower income areas rife with drug addiction, mental illness, low educational standards, lack of parental figures etc.

Not defending these people’s behaviour, but they generally don’t come from areas like Blackrock or Dalkey for example.

They are the result of our failure as a society.

  5. Dublin City Centre is becoming an absolute kip. I was on the LUAS home from work this evening and seen 2 lads passed out on the ground in clear site of gangs of drunks, scores of tents, addicts and feral kids. It’s such a shame because it could really be a highlight of the city but as things stand its just not a place you want to spend any of your time.

  6. Used to work in the IFSC and was always terrified of being attacked or mugged. I used to keep my head down, phone in an inside pocket of my jacket, wireless earphones hidden by my hair or no earphones at all. Wouldn’t take my phone out until I was on the bus.

In the winter I always made I had someone to walk with just never felt safe around that area

  7. The amount of videos I see on the MotoIreland subreddit of scrotes robbing motorcycles is madness…

  8. Its really frustrating seeing no consequences to behaviour that should be a jail term in other countries. The woman being pushed under the dart by scumbags is etched in my mind.

  9. > Tony Gallagher is a former Garda inspector who spent much of his 38-year service policing in central Dublin. He retired 12 months ago but he continues to work in the inner city, for **Ashtree Rick Group**
