Jesus, I hope politicians get how pissed off people are with the utter mismanagement. Hopefully, rte is a hinge moment . Same with Hyde getting time. The well healed solicitor and your wan from maynooth bribing developers

Lad I know for a big 4 is getting paid mileage to drive from Dublin to Cork in a PM role 3 days a week on top of the day rate they’re paying for him.
The staff are barely engaging him and dragging their heels to any change. HSE is a joke.
We should take advantage of the current situation and start a clean out of all public bodies. Especially executive boards and high level management. The amount of waste and corruption is astounding.
This always happens with public institutions unfortunately.
Consultant firms are often such a fucking pain. So much of the work they do is because of management paid way too much money – and lack the slightest bit of critical thinking or personal responsibility – and see these firms as a way out.
The complete waste of time and resources I’ve seen as a result of bringing some of these guys in makes me nauseous . Absolutely useless project managers that do fuck all and we end up managing it ourselves; “technical experts” that don’t know their way around an excel spreadsheet; a sea of PowerPoint decks that go nowhere; advisors that “advise” on subject matter they clearly know fuck-all about if you know the subject yourself. Yeah I get that they’re often used for temp projects which gives flexibility on human resource scaling up and down but it just feels like this other crap is tacked on.
Maybe I’m just a low-level pleb , can someone please explain the wider value these guys bring to a large public sector or NGO role?
