Oh god, I can see this becoming a one upmanship competition.
How long till someone pulls out the Surströmming.
This will end in a violent incident. You can see it coming.
When fascists were getting splattered with milkshakes this country threw its hands up in despair about the violence and lack of civility and decorum.
Very telling how we react to our fascists vs our protestors.
So throwing milk based products at politicians is a criminal offence and leads to takeaways being asked not to sell it when politicians are visiting. But throwing milk based products at protesters is fine.
Omg. When will these people realise that the way to protest is to piss off politicians and rich folk. Not your average hardworking person.
They are testing the good nature of many UK citizens, maybe time for a break.
JSO is absolutely a Tory backed group it’s the only explanation to get everyone upset at the protest and to ban them and take away our rights while everyone applauds
I get protesting is generally a right, but I’m more and more on the side of being against the protesters.
Especially this lot – they’re just doing stupid stuff that annoys people.
And I get protests are sort of meant to be disruptive, but when they are impacting innocent people’s lives and costing them time and money, then it’s not really OK.
Maybe that’s the point, but it pisses me off. Especially after the day I’ve had.
Today I flew, and the airport workers were on strike in the morning. Probably 75% of the days flights ended up being cancelled. Thankfully ours was one of the few that flew – but we were heavily delayed (and sat in the airport for 8 hours instead of one or two).
In the queue to board I heard one guy had to spend over £600 that day trying to get on a flight. Many others would have had the same, costing them hundreds if not thousands in trying to sort what should have been a simple flight.
On top of that because of the delay, our car rental was messed up, meaning we had to go with a different company and forced to spend over £1k in rental costs! If our flight wasn’t so delayed we’d have had more options. The lady at the desk said one person spent £6k on a rental that day!
Fine, they might want more money, rights or whatever. But don’t waste innocent people’s time and especially money. It makes me hate them and not want them to get what they want.
And these stupid Just Stop Oil people are just disruptive, ruin innocent people’s day, or are potentially causing damage to things. That’s not the way to get people on your side. It makes people against you and you become a bigger problem than whatever issue you are trying to protest against.
Someone should let just stop oil know that regular folk have literally no impact when it comes to climate change
How about protesting against people that actually have power to do something? No, that would be too rational. It’s better to waste the time of regular people trying to make a living.
Now if I remember correctly, this is perfectly fine, right? Since it was perfectly fine when it happened to UKIP candidates? It’s a completely legitimate way of getting your point across. Right?
Everyone of these people need to be dropped off on an island. Live your lives oil and it’s products free
You don’t see any of these people trying to work on a solution, they’re just pissing off the people they need to be on their side.
