Modern politics aside… yes, Trianon is one of the most ridiculous treaties in history. Hungary was basically dragged into the war against its own will by Vienna and punished inexplicably harder. Even Austrians, the defeated side, took a piece of Hungary for itself. They had no saying in the post-war carve up, the right of self-determination was practiced arbitrarily “for me but not for thee”. The dissolution of Austria-Hungary was a mess and probably the worst thing to happen to central Europe, instead of one big, albeit relatively unstable multinational state there were now 3 completely unstable multinational states with milions of people left out of their home countries. Hungarians were right to ask a revision of Trianon, if they still are 100 years later… is another question.
So thats why they are nuking our economy so the younger generation has easier time to leave their homeland. Genius plan.
