Hello, I have a question related to the mobile network. I used congstar’s offer for 2 months, but I received a huge bill because I made calls using WhatsApp over mobile data to my home country (another EU member state). I contacted their customer service, and they [told](https://prnt.sc/rvDc-Tlts-sT) me [that](https://prnt.sc/bRDp45hP0eOS) as long as I use mobile data to make calls from Germany to any other country, regardless of whether it’s an EU member or not, I will be charged additionally. I want to terminate such a contract because why should I pay for something to dictate how I use my mobile data.

I’ve looked at o2’s offer, can someone help me with the selection so that I don’t make the same mistake again? So, I have a SIM card and I would transfer my current German number. I need calls, SMS, and of course, mobile data, around 20-30 GB per month without contract. I found this [offer](https://prnt.sc/gdBPYOyJoDeX) and [also this](https://prnt.sc/8FNdAMTbqUfw), but I’m not sure if I understood correctly that it provides everything I’m looking for.

I don’t understand the difference between Handy Tarif and Prepaid, what does it mean in practical sense?

Thank you very much for help.

  1. Simon Mobile is a sub-brand of Vodafone and they now offer 25 GB of data for 17 EUR/month. If you use an extra coupon code, you could also get +2 GB/month for a year, and if you invite friends who then sign up using your referral link, you also get +1 GB for each (up to 3) for a year. It’s a monthly contract with no minimum runtime and so far I have been surprisingly satisfied with it as far as German plans go (still staying away from Vodafone for everything else though).
