I was doing some research into predictive maintainance as I didn’t know what it meant and it seemed like a bit of a buzzword when I bumped into the fact that infrabel was apparently planning to monitor traintracks conditions with drones, IR cameras, sonic devices and a bunch of other techy stuff.
How much of this was actually implemented and how well does it work? Does it make maintainance significantly easier or is it even more complicated cos now you’ve got to maintain a bunch of complex technical equipment as well as the trainlines?
