What happened to cause the claimed nightmares? Can’t read with paywall.
I’m currently suffering from anger issues after reading that….what do I get?
When did Ireland become like America.
In fairness I think I’d have ptsd after a loss of cabin pressure and emergency landing

I have PTSD after most Ryanair flights.
That’s a fucking joke
People like these parents & judges are a big part of why we can’t have nice things. Insurance premiums gone through the roof. Shameful behaviour!
You just know the ma is a wench
It’s shit like this that has driven insurance through the roof and the reason so many events are cancelled.
oh good Jesus christ
I don’t understand this at all.
There was a sudden depressurisation, caused by what? If RyanAir were at fault then surely all the passengers would have a claim of some description? If it was something outside their control then how the fuck are they liable? They did an emergency landing and all was good.
Madness, utter madness.
In flight depressurisation means a cabin filled with what appears to be smoke, oxygen masks dropping down, and I’d imagine a fair amount of crying/screaming/anguish from adult passengers. Coupled with an emergency landing, it makes for a fairly traumatic experience for anyone.
Beyond that, different people react in different ways, and children get trauma and PTSD too. But sure /r/Ireland are all mental health practitioners who know how to diagnose and treat, right?
*Ryanair Customers pay child of schizo parents €11,000 through increased air fare.
Shit I have nightmares because of successive failures of Irish government, where do I collect? 🤦♀️💀
You can really sue for anything in this country lmao.
Christ I suffer nightmares just booking a flight on crying air. Where do I sign up for the class action.
Even if this was true, what’s 11k going to do for his nightmares!?
This is not an “award” of damages by a judge, but a settlement that Ryanair chose to give, approved by the judge. The judge can only refuse to award a settlement if there is no reasonable chance of the claim succeeding.
Reporting like this unnecessarily adds to hysteria around high damages awards, as seen in this comment section.
I have flying anxiety and every time I fly Ryanair I pray for my life. What can I milk from them?
Someone farted on the luas before and the smell still gives me PTSD where can I claim?
Jesus… when I was a kid, my parents used to send me up with the neighbour in his homebuilt crop duster that had duct tape in a bunch of places…
I am also suffering night terrors from previous Ryanair flights! Night terrors in fact
This is one of those times where I might actually agree with the outcome. A plane depressurizing is scary as shit. It happened to my dad many years ago and he said it was like something out of a horror film as people were crying, screaming and bleeding from their ears and nose while trying to put oxygen masks on.
The amount of people talking absolute rubbish in this thread without even having read the article.
Next time you see something like this, ask what you’d do in their shoes. The plane you’re on suffered an emergency landing and people suffered bleeding noses/eardrums. Your own child is traumatised and is suffering from diagnosed ptsd. Imagine comforting your child and trying to reassure them, imagine the stress and anxiety attached with ever trying to go on holiday with them again. Would you, faced with these things and in a situation where the law CLEARLY states that Ryanair are responsible, tell yourself that you’re not going to do anything about it. Instead, you’ll take your €10 meal voucher and take the rest of it on the chin so that Ryanair aren’t out of pocket.
In my experience, most people are martyrs and out for the common good until it happens them and then they want to know what can be do about it when they actually have to deal with the consequences.
We’ve all suffered nightmares after Ryanair flights. Are we all getting 11,000 Euro now???
Headline reads like the person suing is being smeared to make them look bad not the corporation who was at fault
