I guess the farmers will have to cull all the cows anyway due to lack of butcher and lorry drivers, so the joke’s on China!

You would be mad to if you knew you were going to be eaten.
I know that Johnson is mad but to call him a cow goes a bit far.
The UK’s not the one who’ve lifted the ban on feeding animal remains to livestock.
Alright this is the deal: In the UK, the original feed ban was introduced in 1988 to prevent ruminant protein being fed to ruminants. In addition, it has been illegal to feed ruminants with all forms of mammalian protein **(with specific exceptions)** since November 1994 and to feed any farmed livestock, including fish and horses, with mammalian meat and bone meal (mammalian MBM) since 04 April 1996.
Now looking up specific exceptions…
This is all a bit laughable really, granted the UK really fucked up in the 80’s but the feeding practices then have been illegal since. Mad cow can occur spontaneously, due to the amount of testing that the UK does we pick it up far more. Worry about the countries not reporting BSE instead of the ones that do.
This is just a trade war under the auspices of “health & safety”. This is a country that couldn’t care if you are eating a bat, dog or cat. China would not dare do such to the U.S, as we saw under Donald Trump, they’ll be slapped with tarrifs immediately. The UK needs to draw a line, find an import product that China sells to the UK and slap an equal ban on lost revenue or increase tariffs on specific goods. The only way to deal with China like the U.S has learnt is to play them at their own game.
