It really is sad how Captain Tom’s legacy has been tainted by his family.
That whole family of his are rotten shitbags. Every day in the papers after Sir Tom’s passing, there was something about his family doing dodgy shit. Poor man’s legacy ruined by his family of sociopaths
The daughter is a stain on his legacy, but the legacy was overblown too.
He walked 100 lengths of his garden in 24 days. That’s it. Good marketing for the fundraiser though, the flag shaggers loved it.
They gave him Sports Personality of the Year and a knighthood.
God I love this story so much its the perfect summation of modern Britain.
WW2 veteran does a thing for charity.
His shitty kids tear it apart and milk it dry for every penny that it’s worth in the short term. Until nothing remains for them to pass on but ignominy and shame.

Didn’t his miss his vaccination appointment to go on a holiday to Barbados? In hindsight that was perhaps less than ideal.
The more I read about this lot of crooks the worse they get. I suppose it shows how easy it is to turn flag shaggers into cash cows.

Still mental when you think that she claimed it was his dream to go to Barbados so they went during lockdown, free first class obvs, and it ended up killing him.
An absolute grifter. Hopefully she gets what she deserves

Oh and the Tories and “Prince” Andrew so it is not all bad.

“The couple said they needed space “urgently” for presentations and memorabilia, and got permission for an annex but a retrospective application for the spa was refused.
They declined to speak to The Sun at their seven-bedroom home.”
I’m sure they could have moved a few things around to make space!
I actually think this story is so sad and really shows what we’re like as a country. He was just an old guy who saw how much trouble the NHS was in during the pandemic and decided to try and do something to help. He was blown up and used politically and then by his family to try and amass as much money as possible. It’s just sad
Heartbroken, I nearly spat the tea from my Captain Tom mug all over my limited edition Captain Tom pyjamas when I read this story this morning!
