They used to have brakes that slammed on when you crossed the supermarket boundary.
The littering problem caused by a small number of selfish morons is so tiring. It not the people who make the items being litter which is the problem but the attitude of those twats.
I’m not sure what the answer to the general litter problem is, apart from teaching people to be more considerate, but perhaps in this case there could be a £50 deposit for the trolley. I suspect they’d lose fewer then.
So if a dozen people go and remove all of asdas trolleys, does that mean the country get to charge even more to return them? is this a new way to ensure multinationals actually pay their taxes?
This is why I like Aldi. Never seen a trolley that hasn’t been put back. Just make them all token/coin locked.
How is Asda responsible for a bunch of little idiots?
Simply calculate the maximum radius of the shop, then tie all trolleys to a pole in the centre of the shop with massive chains.
Problem solved!
It’s Tesco near me. The river opposite is lovely but it gets to low tide and you see a good few Tesco trolleys in it. The local woods are filled with wrappers from Tesco meal deal sandwiches and other foods clearly bought from Tesco and discarded by people, despite their being bins dotted about. It’s not ASDA that is the problem, it is Brits who don’t give a flying fuck about nature.
Fuse them to those scan and shop handsets, you solve this and those sea cucumbers who just leave them in the carpark.

The most interesting thing about this article, other than the potential civil war that’s clearly about to breakout in Ashfield, is [Asda having a lost trolly collection app.](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.edatachase.collex)
