Housing Bubble In NORWAY?

  1. I made this short documentary full of investors and people who warned about the housing bubble in the U.S years before it collapsed. The same people are now warning Norway as the bubble is so big, its scary.

  2. As much as I like a good scare, this is just no.

2008 US and nowadays Norway is tad bit different, don’t you think? Banks are not flatout scamming, there are actual regulations and limitation who can borrow and how much. Did the 0% rent politic caused damage? NO SHIT IT DID! Is it the end of the world? Far from it.

Did you consider that in the last 15-20 years labour cost effectively doubled? Building regulations got like tightened twice and by a lot. Material cost increase is just stupid. Try to build a house and then compare it to market prices, then see how big the bubble is. It will spoil it for you – it’s inflated, but it’s not a bubble.

Still not convinced? Look at the rental market – it’s bonkers. There is not enough housing being built STILL, too many people coming in. Too much demand for affordable housing and it pushes the bottom market up. If people have to liquidate luxury estates, they will be going down also creating even more pressure at the bottom. The most concerning sub 6mil market is not going anywhere anytime soon. And for those who overpaid for 15mil mansions – well no one is to blame but themselves.
